I hope he spends a long time in Jail. Theft is one thing I think we should throw the book at people for.

I think it was unsafe for the Police to allow him to continue the flight. After getting caught trying to steal, I don't think he would be in a good state of mind.

WTF, this guy clearly pilfers a passengers listening device and the TSA let's him depart?

Last time I checked, you get caught stealing, you're treated to fingerprinting, photos and a night at the local clink.

I hope its not this one - he's a great guy!

I hope it was one of those 80 GB IPODS that sells for around $350

According to Florida Law:
"Theft of property valued at $300-20,000 is grand theft in the third degree and a third degree felony.
Theft of any other property is petit theft and a second degree misdemeanor."

Well for those that know this person it was him! I emailed the TV station and received this reply.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. We visited the pilot's
home Monday night. In a story that aired in our 10pm newscast, we talked
briefly to the pilot's wife. She told us she was aware of the
allegations, but couldn't talk about them. She told us he wasn't home.

He was probably easy to spot....with all the gel in his hair.

Could this cost him his ATP?

"He claimed he took the iPod because he said it would just be confiscated by airport employees, according to the report."

ROFL.

What kind of dumb ass excuse is that?

Did he hit the passenger over the head with his CDO plywood board?

That line was delivered with all of the appropriate stammering and eye shifting I am sure. I bet his wife is soooo proud. What a disposable feminine cleasing product container!

I remember hearing a story about some U.S. Airways Express (what company I don't remember) pilot who got busted in DCA swiping a neato pair of shorts a few years back. Anyone know if that was true? Does this guy have a record?
