...Just be thankful it wasn't a skunk strike.

Yes I've had one
No, the passengers nor the crew felt anything
No, we didn't see it (nighttime, not even Pepe's white stripe was visible)
Yes, we sure as heck smelled it!!!

We joked about evacuating due to the noxious odor!

Never EVER hit a skunk!

Too Bad they can't put JO on the runway in the middle of the night.

Now that is one of the funniest things Ive read on here in awhile. Couldn't agree with you more sir.

Did the coyote's callsign begin with Foxtrot?

luckily the coyote didn't have time to throw an ACME instant hole onto the runway, this could've been far worse.

About two months ago, I was cleared position and hold on ATL RWY 27R behind a departing Airtran 73. About half way down the runway, the Airtran reported that they were aborting because they "blew a tire". I suspect that they were near V1, because they were way down the runway. Then the captain came on and said they "hit a coyote" and needed to "inspect the airplane to see if anything fell off". It was quite comical. They pulled over on Lima and their mtc checked them out. Then the airport ops vehicles had to inspect the runway for the "missing parts" and indeed found a dead coyote around the intersection of 27R and Dixie.

So it's not just small airports. Who'd have thunk a coyote in the middle of 'da ATL?

I've seen coyotes in atl a few times. Usually around the intersection of mike and Dixie.
