mesa interview

First of all, congrats on the interview. If you want information on the company from a woman's perspective, join the listserve listed for the 99s. There are two listed--look for the Pro-99s listserve (www.ninety-nines.org). Any of your questions will get answered. Info on the interview itself-- www.aviationinterviews.com.

Secondly--I'm new to this forum. Can anyone say anything good about Mesa? Is Mesa REALLY that bad? Sometimes negative stuff is said by people with a grudge.

Look if you want to work for a substandard company than go right ahead. This is the problem with pilots right now. Everybody thinks that they will work for a small airline for a couple of years, bust there a$$ living on food stamps, thinking that they will go work for some major making $300,000 a year work ten days a month. PEOPLE those days are gone, and they are not coming pack anytime soon. WE as a pilot group XJT, Comair, ASA, Mesaba, and all the other small jet feeders have to put a stop to the race to the bottom. You can help be telling JO to go F&ck himself, by not taking that job. One pilot group can't do it alone, becuase there are pilots that will gladely work for free just so they can wear that **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** uniform, I recomend F&ck the airlines look into the Air National guard or Reserve or even active duty and become a pilot for the Military, UPT is a blast, the pay is great(compared to the small airline), when I do my two weeks of active duty(14 days) I take home after tax twice than what I gross in one month at XJT. Flying a jet may be fun at first, but that does not put food on the table and pay the bills.

Fly Safe,

well thats just hunky-dory for you LC130, but not everyone has the same chance to do it that way are. there are quite a few eliminating factors that could be well beyond a persons control that will not allow them to participate in the training the military has to offer. dont discount the civilian route just because you are lucky enough to not need it

I agree...I lost my AFROTC scholarship because of a single entry of asthma in my medical records from when I was 14, despite a 3.8 GPA, excellent CO reviews, passing a pulmonary test and a 420/500 on the PFT. The job I *thought* I had vaporized before my eyes. Oh well, such is life, maybe I'll get a shot at KYANG when I graduate.

Now that I've throughly hijacked this thread - Good luck FlyBunny. If the interview goes well and you get the job, good for you. Get your time, help raise the bar in the next contract, and run the fugg away from Mesa as fast as you can to greener pastures.

FlyBunny...
Check your personal messages. Good luck... It's tough looking for Mesa advice on this board as a lot of us feel we lost our jobs and lost ground in working conditions due, in part, to Mesa. Don't take it too personal!

how many females Mesa have as pilots?

One last thing...
Women pilots are 3% of the industry... Do the math...
There are not a lot of female pilots anywhere! Don't expect preferential treatment, it doesn't exsist and when it does it pisses other people off.
Hopefully you have realized this by now?
Hope you like men and talking sports! ((Go Pats!)
Welcome to the airlines...
