Okay, I used to fly for ACA and then Independence Air. I have left the regionals and am looking for a quick recap on what happened to Mesa and JO.

I have heard rumors of BK and furloughs but no hard numbers. I do realize this question seems very obvious to 99 percent of those reading it, but I have been away from the game for 6 years or so and can't possibly go through all the threads to figure it out.

Could someone please take pity on me and just give a brief recap of the past 6 years of Mesa? Thanks in advance,

nothing has changed...except for the bankruptcy. They're still the leaches of the industry.
 
Mesa started having financial problems in '08. In Oct of '09 UA did not reup the majority of Mesa's feed and in January '10 MAG filed Chap. 11 reorganization to shed unused aircraft and fight Delta over the codeshare dabacle.
 
Currently in BK.

JO still runs the place.

Have an independent operation in HI

United cut our 50 seat contract.
Mesa needs to lose some leases on surplus jets.

Did not fare well in the U.S. Airways/America West merger.
Lost everything that we had for U.S. Airways.

Expect the big decision in June ish.

Delta is suing Mesa who is suing Delta on 3 counts.

United is suing as well. Mesa said to United that we would be adding CRJ 700s to the mix as per our contract. Mesa can’t get them financed. United wants us to show proof that we have the ability to acquire them. Mesa can’t get financing because of BK.

Have PBS now. Line Guarantee. Block or better. The rest of the contract is the same one that you worked under 6 years ago.

Did I leave anything out or does that pretty much sum up the last 6 years or so?

O yea FYI. When the dust settles the most junior captain will be Aug 30th 2004. CVG ERJ.
