We are tired of being treated like we have done something wrong for NOT NOT paying for traing. For upgrading in less than a year. Getting our 1000 PIC 121 Jet. Making 60 bucks a hour flying 60 day old planes. We have nothing to be ashamed of. Your TA supports that. Quit putting our company down.

Quit putting YOUR company down.........I believe you are the one who started this thread???? Are you the guy that dresses like Elvis down in Memphis??

If I'm not mistaken, Pinnacle has all of the CRJ deliveries for the next two year. Look's like we will be growing. And I'm sure you guys will be getting some of the 175 options remaining.

This XJ ta will pass, though not with my vote and not by a landslide. Yes, it is a sucky contract. You know why it is sucky contract? Because its a regional airline contract.
Not until we're (regional pilots) all willing to demand the equal pay and rules for the same job the major pilots of the same flag do will we ever have a contract that we're proud of. That day won't happen as long as there's more than a few of us willing to sell the other guys and gals out.
You Flagship guys can laugh at us XJers all you want- but I'll be the one enjoying the much higher quality of life, and god bless you during your negotiations. You're going to need all the help you can get. I hope your next contract is a good as our old one was.

It's more like Mesa baa baa baa. Sheep following their union reps to slaughter.

Oh yea, that will make the second time MSA has sighned concessionary rates for jets. Maybe you guys can just leave us alone now. Quit ya laughing about our rates and rules. Quit ya snubbing. Quit ya industry rumor spreading and go fly.

I hope your command of the flight deck doesn’t parallel the maturity exhibited on this board.

Do you find it necessary for XJ Pilots to hate you and every other Pinnacle Pilot? If not, then you need to stop this unwarranted banter. Comments from a few less than respectable crewmembers don’t justify your battle. Your parades will only solidify their discontent for not only yourself, but for your flight deck colleagues. The same goes for any XJ pilot who counters with the same!

These actions play right into the hands of Mr. Anderson.

I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve, but not a single XJ pilot is going to vote based on the opinions showcased on flightinfo.com. I’m voting NO. Not to “raise the bar” for industry peers, but for my family and myself.

Considering the environment NWA has put XJ pilots in today and 9E pilots in 97 (taking over flying, domiciles closing, drastically interrupting the lives of many families), I would say our pilot groups (NW, XJ, 9E) get along better than any other. Lets keep it this way!!!

If you need to vent, then use a different avenue, because this just feeds the beast.

You are absolutly right. I not sure why I behaved the way I have this week. I snapped. I'm tired and wore out. Good luck to you and your family.
Good luck to my many freinds at XJ. This whipsaw sucks for everyone.

Believe it or not, the strike put great pressure on our junior Captains because their was a loop hole in our QRH Strike Handbook. This loop hole was a huge stress to us. We were going to be forced to take medical LOA as a counter messure for flying struck work if the loop hole was used by our MEC. Anyway not making excuses, just saying
I have been wounded and I'm bleeding. But I'm stitch up this A.M. and not going to repeat this behavior. Good Luck to all and to all a good day.

Please....I just pray to God that our next contract is better than your NEW contract!

NEWSOUTH,

I appreciate the class that you demonstrated in your last post.

DTW FO,

I also hope you guys get a contract better than our new TA. There is a lot of emotion out there, but we need to put that aside when we deal with eachother. Regardless of the comments made on this board by pilots of both of our groups, I believe that on the whole we wish the best for eachother.

What I don't think many people, PCL and MSA, realize is how big the gap between our contracts really is. I hope that our PCL brothers realize how far they really need to move in the next round of negotiations to move ahead of us. In pay rates alone, it will take an 8%-12% DOS increase just to bring payrates even with this new TA. When your new contract is signed, that is about how far we will have progressed in our new TA.

I would love to see our PCL brothers get an industry leading contract this next go around. Your currnet contract has a long way to go to even reach our current one. And the new TA has moved us even further ahead. This is not a slam or personal slight, just a fact.

Our trip guarantees (100% for cancellations), premium pay (150%), block or better pay(no 15 min for free), and now a look forward 4hr min day put us 8%-10% ahead of PCL before we even look at pay rates. This would mean that a CL65 Cpt needs $5 to $6 an hour more just to be even. Basically, it will take a 16%- 22% increase in pay AND workrules to see the same takehome pay as your MSA brothers.

For 7 months of our new TA, PCL Captains will make about a $1 an hour more in about 3 longevity ranges (3-6yr range, I believe). Since this plane will not likely be on the property during this 7 month period, it seems like a moot point.

I know that some of our PCL brothers see this TA as not raising the bar for you guys, but I can't agree. Given what I said above as well as the fact that your new contract proposal will not be compared to BigSky like MSA, CTQ, and MES was compared is a huge step forward for you guys. As much as everyone likes to slam on Mesa, they too raised the bar by getting rid of the other bottom feeders at Freedom.

The BAR is not the TOP contract. The BAR is the industry average. This bar was raised by Mesa and now this bar has moved even further up with this TA. Now XJT will raise it further, then PCL will raise it futher, and so on.... This is called Pattern Bargaining and it works. Slowly, but it works.

Sorry to go on so long, but I don't like to post often and had to rewrite this several times to avoid pissing anyone off.

As for our PCL Brothers and their upcoming contract talks... I will walk beside you every chance I get. I will be at every rally possible. I will proudly honor any struckwork that your MEC defines. We are in this together and are fighting the same beast.

SEEEEEEE YAAAAAA!!!

DTWFO,
My statement that you quoted was a sincere attempt to mend a fence. Sorry if it didn't come out that way. However, I do believe that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
You guys are going to need our help, just like we would have needed yours if we chose to strike. Mr. DaDream did an excellent job of using some numbers to back up what I meant when I pointed out the quality of life issue. Instead of bashing us you should be asking how we gained as much as we did and sympathizing with us for what we didn't get. If you think that by bashing us you're going to improve our solidarity and help stop the whipsaw, then continue.
Hat's off to Newsouth for realizing this on his own.

People, people, people,

At first look this contract looked like something we could work with, but we needed to send it back to get a couple of fixes. After going to the road shows and seeing comparisons of other leading contracts ours really isnt that bad. Two things fall short, Fo pay for 44-59 seat and 60-69 seats, plus the 5 year term.

Captain pay is above most, but below some.

Our work rules lead the industry! I repeat OUR WORK RULES LEAD THE INDUSTRY!!!!!!

What everything boils down to is what a person brings home on their W-2. If you don't believe me I have seen two peoples last paycheck on what they made in the year of 2003.

4-5 year FO making $30.05/hr
$39,284

5-6 year SF-340 Captain (line holder)
makes $45.28/hr
$58,016

Work rules give you quite a bump in paychecks. So when you all talk about Pinnacle, Mesa, ACA, Air Wisconsin, Comair making $1-3 dollar more an hour than a Mesaba pilot ask them what pay is protected when a trip is cancelled, Ask about CDO's, ask about minimum pay garantee, ask about a minimum pay day, ask them what kind of scope protection they have, ask about training on the back side of the clock, ask about retirement, ask about jumpseats, ask about premium pay, And then ask to see their W-2 at the end of the year compared to a Mesaba pilot.

We fell way short in FO pay, fell a little short in Captain pay, and are also signing a 5 year contract. Mesaba pilots, by far, blew away the competion with work rules and scope. (yes we sold some for solid scope.)

At first my vote was a no, But now knowing the facts I changed it to an absolute YES
