Now that the writer has dealt with the wrath of a pilot on his day off, well into a half-rack. I'm sure he will steer clear of us next time; he and his editing ways!

those responses to the original Aspen Times article were a little,no lets make that way over the top and doesn't reflect well on the pilot community at all. You really have to wonder what they were trying to accomplish by sending this guy e mails like that in the first place.

I have to agree with you. In the best of times/circumstances, the public has resentment as an entry-level attitude toward pilots...overpaid, underworked, prima donnas, arrogant, responsible for the high ticket prices, you've heard it all. So to unleash that barrage of teenage angst only serves to reinforce the public's wildly mistaken image of pilots. If there was any chance of garnering public support for a group of pilots ( and there isn't any chance ), the regional pilots need it the most.

I walked the picket lines with the EAL guys a bit back in the day and it was a real eye-opener. In spite of the extreme plight of the EAL pilots, the travelling public walked on by without so much as even looking at the picketers muchless expressing any support.

I have to cringe a bit when reading about this recent situation with the newspaper guy. The best thing you can do is IGNORE anything about pilots/aviation you read in the fish wrappers. They bait you because your reaction is so predictable and serves their purposes so well.

Are you reading the same article that I am because he makes it clear that MOST to the emails were not from MESA PILOTS but from Dash-8 pilots around the country.

I think the only one who has sunk to a new low are people like you who will take any opportunity to bash Mesa pilots (bash our managment all you want please) even though the facts don't support it. -Bean

On United, luck of the draw. Air Whiskey (BAE146) or Mesa(DHC-8) from Denver.

America West, Mesa (DHC-8) from Phoenix

I wrote the guy a professional email (I didn't call him an idiot or anything....if anyone who knows me can believe that...it is true) and he actually emailed me back. It was polite.

Can't blame these guys for venting, and if the flying public gets an earful, maybe they will demand the elimination of all turboprops. Then we can all be Mesa jet pilots.
