And as the gas prices keep climbing, pilot salaries will keeping getting chipped away at. Unless airline management can raise ticket prices to compensate for gas increases, labor is going to take the brunt of all this. If the average citizen has to now pay $2.25/gal instead of $1.25/gal, shouldn't they also now pay $450 round trip instead of $350 round trip? Makes me almost wish we were flying like it was in the 1970's, before deregulation. I remember flying coast-coast in late 1980's for $350 round trip. Nowadays, the consumer thinks that is expensive!
