They would think of something. Rational thinking has hardly been the hallmark of USAPA.

Which is why no airline would want to merge with USAir due to the fact that the East folks simply have made it clear that any airline merging with them would be inviting trouble. They have made it very clear that they would never just go away peacefully.

Also Alaska and Hawaiian are not in any trouble financially and both have a good reputation with the traveling public. Paint USAir on the side of their A/C and you have destroyed much of what makes them successful in the markets they serve.

No offense Dan - but the only thing people care about these days is one thing - how much the price of the ticket is - and from someone in the industry - i do think you guys have a good product - but the final choice for most is $$$$$.

No offense taken. You are right to a certain extent, but Hawaii is a very unique market. So far all airlines that have tried to compete solely on price throughout and to and from Hawaii have failed.
