Howdy y'all!

Anyone checkout the Mars Rover launch today? They had a 'rocket' cam mounted on the second stage of the Delta rocket, looking backward along the rocket body. Talk about a cool view! Watched live as the launch pad gradually turned into the view of the curvature of the earth from space... With jettison of the Solid Rocket Boosters as a bonus! They should have that kind of view on every flight! (Or maybe they have and I've never noticed it....)

Saw the launch from the airport in TIX. Very cool! One of the Shuttles had a camera last year. It had great pix, however it iced up after about a minute.

I had a Daytona Beach layover Saturday night thru Sunday afternoon, and was very disappointed about the launch scrub that day. Musta been cool to watch! (livin' here in Seattle, I don't get down to FLA that often.)

Those live onboard camaras have been used for awhile. Great view!!!

Saw it from the right seat. We were MCO-RDU and were about 40 mi north of JAX when the launch window opened. We "deviated 45 deg right for a buildup" which gave us a better view. I would've liked to have seen center radar and all the trend vectors of the northbound traffic take a coordinated turn! Got some decent pics of the vapor trail as it went up.

The question is... did the rover PFT to ride that rocket?
