I am also not debating some theoretical philosophical slippery but an itch the membership is surely feeling.

And it is a feeling...

The membership has been hurt in real terms, years, money, retirement, etc. The membership is wounded and will strike those that have wounded it which includes ALPA as well as an abusive management
.

No doubt the membership is hurt... but your methods are counterproductive. They are vindictive and spiteful.

ALPA can either start helping the membership heal or take the kick from a hurt membership.

Fine. You and your fellow pilots show up at an LEC meeting and start a grassroots movement. That is where real change occurs at ALPA..not FI sport bitching.....it doesn't count.

Let me know how motivated your fellow pilots are. I wish they were.. but until the pain of the status quo is less that the pain of change..everything will remain....

Another ALPA carrier lets management take everything for management.

"Next week, 39,000 Delta employees are expected to receive cash and new stock in Delta worth a total of $480 million. The total equity stake the employees will get equals 3.5 percent of the company. Delta is also giving 1,200 managers a 2.5 percent stake, valued at $240 million, in the reorganized company."

39k get 3.5% while 1200 get a whopping 2.5%. 1% less for 37,800 less contributors! Thats fair if you live in the fairy land world of management and ALPA.

NWA is doing as posted earlier. DAL is doing it. AMR did it. and UAL did it.

News story after news story validates the title of this thread.

Management Pay/ALPA Neglect and Oversight

Stunningly irrational after a news report showing AMR gave management $176M of the total 2006 $231M profit.

That's ALPA's fault?

(And I think the compensation was one of the listed expenses. The profit was calculated AFTER it was paid)

When a company gives away 3/4 of its yearly profit and has workers working under a concessionary deal and you union folks don't see a problem I am stunned!

Oh!...I get it! You think you're Cassandra...and none of us believe your predictions.

Here's a news flash: EVERYONE (except the dorks actually getting the dough!) has a problem with it!

So now that we have a problem with it, give me your plan of action.

Do we strap on the bomb vest, rush the Executive Lounge, and ride the short fuse to MartyrTown?....or do we support the organizations and candidates that are trying to change the way corporations do the Robin-Hood-In-Reverse trick?

What DID your congressman say when you called him to express your outrage at the way bankruptcy laws allow looting by executives?

Most pilots and employees agree with your message...

What we don't agree with is your delivery...

Regardless.... the only way this will change is activism on your part. And your fellow pilots.... only then will change occur....

Your union leadership is the gun... the membership is the ammo... are you feeding the gun? Ammo-less guns are useless...... Your leadership is constantly showing management the gun... and management chuckles and says.. "got any ammo this time :D  "

Get active!!
