Records of the conversation between the pilots and ATC has shown that co-pilot H S Ahluwalia more than once urged Captain Zlatko Glusica not to land and instead go around.

...

But the CVR and black box have got substantially damaged and may have to be sent to the manufacturer (Boeing) in US for decoding.

I believe the accepted internet response to the above logical contradiction is "LOLwut?"

For those who aren't aware, there is a politically-driven effort within the Indian aviation world to remove all expatriates flying for Indian airlines. It's seen as a point of shame in some circles that there are foreigners flying their aircraft while there are "highly qualified" (read: fresh Comm/Multi) Indian pilots out of work.

The "sources" named in the above story are, at best, a rant posted in whatever the local equivalent of Flightinfo may be. The lower echelons of Indian media (guys that make our supermarket tabloids look Peabody-worthy by comparison) are looking to stretch the story as far as it will go. Due process, citation of sources and respect for the dead be damned.
