My CubCrafters Carbon Cub FX-3 has an experimental version of the IO-360 they call the 363i which has a placard that says when the oil is at 5.5 qts to add a quart. Typical target is 6 quarts for flying. I've found I typically add a quart every 10 hours or so until recently. As I'm approaching an oil change I've hesitated in adding oil knowing soon it will be completely replaced. The interesting part is the oil has been what I'll call at 5.6 to 5.7 quarts, i.e. it's not down to 5.5. Oddly, it's been stable at this level for quite a while now and I wonder if this is the point where the oil will stabilize as the engine now has around 135 tach hours.
For other IO-360 owners/operators, what are you seeing in a stabilized oil quantity?
