Let's assume a straight-up purchase, no labor issues that would rise to the level of something that might spook investors, and Horizon either sold or spun off as a separate entity. Which way do the respective share prices move in the short term? Discuss among yourselves.

Hypothetically I would say that if this does happen you will start to see a huge consolidation push. Everybody is just waiting for the first domino to fall.

If this actually happens I see Southwest IMMEDIATELY announcing these new routes:

1. Seattle to Lubbock--3 daily 737-900s (including an allnighter)

2. Seattle to Midland/Odessa--2 daily 737-700s

3. Portland to Harlingen--2 daily 737-800s

4. Portland to Long Island Islip--1 daily 737-400 Allnighter

5. Portland to Amarillo--2 daily 737-300s (Southwest)

6. Anchorage to Islip--1 allnight 737-700

7. Prudoe Bay to Lubbock--3 daily 737-800s

8. Sitka to Oakland--1 daily 737-500 (Southwest)

I think those are WINNER routes. Go for it!

Bye Bye--General Lee

If that really is your Mom, then what do you look like? YIKES. And I really don't care what you are looking for. It made me laugh. Bye now.

Ooooooo....I guess you sure showed me.

I really want to be there for your 10,000th so don't forget to PM me when you get a little closer to the big day.

Geez...almost 10,000 posts? Get a life, dude!

Thanks Maverick. I guess if I didn't land on "the boat" I must not have a life..... Most of my responses here are to guys like regionalretard, and I feel obligated to put them in their place. Man, I guess I have been busy. Later skater.

Anyone have any idea of past mergers and what the stock prices did in any of them? Just curious.

Thanks for the laugh Gen.
