JetBlue Airways Reports November Traffic

NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU - News) reported today that its traffic in November increased 11.7 percent from November 2005, on a capacity increase of 13.2 percent. Load factor for November 2006 was 80.8 percent, a decrease of 1.1 points from November 2005. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 99.7 percent and its on-time(1) performance was 70.2 percent. ``Our progress this quarter continued in November, with passenger revenue per available seat mile, or PRASM, up approximately 23% over last year,'' said David Neeleman, CEO of JetBlue.

Proof that you can raise your prices and they will come back.. Everyone loves to say that the consumers will jump ship for a $1 lower fare but in JFK the reality is that they will only do it once as they ride past the term on the Airtrain with all the 320's on the gate they get to their terminal check in and start boarding to find a dash 8.. Or they get into the 50 seat RJ and taxi out around 7pm join the line as number 46 for takeoff and then proceed to tell ground that they only have 15 mins until they time out.


80.8 % LF is impressive I think that Airtran only had like 69% for the month.. Then again Airtran only has 600 million in debt.. JB has like 2.4 Billion
 
I like all our numbers for the month except for the on time number. Granted, we don't cancel much, but 70 some percent when the weather for the month was generally good isn't that stellar...
