*sigh* I wish you guys would quit quoting a guy on my ignore list... However, read the quote again:

As far as stapling, it would suck for our senior CA's but, with some fences in to protect the guys who are due to retire and/or upgrade in the next few years as well as pay protection when the fences come down, by and large it wouldn't be a bad deal.
I'm due to upgrade in the next few years with our current delivery schedule (and I'm not going to get into an argument about whether we could take the deliveries. We have the cash, we were hiring, and expanding into the Caribbean. That's a done deal and not open for argument). Snapshot on date of constructive notice, right? What was going on? Oh yeah, we were hiring and expanding.

So you're agreeing that my post where I said SWAPA should agree to protect my upgrade and pay protect me at CA pay once the fences come down, and that would be OK with you?

Mkay. Sounds great. (again, my personal thoughts on an SLI are not indicative of 1,669 other pilots, but you can try to make that argument if you want.)

So, what are you up to now, 3 individuals and 1 of them is a repeat offender? I personally wouldn't bet my career on arbitrators putting too much stock in web-board postings of less than 1/4 of 1% of the pilot group as a whole from three years ago.

OTH, GK's statements after the sell job was done are much more important. I hope he keeps talking ;).

Lear can you post the financials, in relationship to the cash AT had please.

About $510M which was triple the amount of cash we had on hand when we started taking deliveries of our very first 737NG's.

Next question? :D

Where those future leases or straight out purchases? How many would have been taking over the next five years? Where the confirmed, or MOU? Thanks Tyroni.

Just keeping you honest -

You'll be "pay protected" and then some the moment you hit our list and our contract. So yes, I'm fine with you being pay protected. The seat you sit in or wish to sit in is actually irrelevant to the total cash collected argument.

I was talking about keeping my upgrade track then being protected at SWA CA rates when the fences come down. It was tongue in cheek to a certain extent but I was primarily pointing out that there's more to what I've said all along than just a pure "staple me" request, and I've mentioned, even back then, that not all would agree with my personal thoughts on the matter.

Some of us have wanted to be at Southwest for a while. Some never applied. I've said it once and I'll say it again: I'm just happy to be here, and it's not up to me, our NC has my full confidence.

I wasn't beating on you too hard! I was pointing out the obvious that you'll get career expectation "Captain pay" without even being in the seat.

It's all good.
