Anyone have any experiance on how 135 cargo and regional airlines view time in homebuilt single seat FW airplanes? The plane has a VFR panel with a rotex water cooled engine. Any info would be of great help.

If it's got an N-number, it counts as much as anything with a normal airworthiness certificate. If someone's going to hold it against you, then you're just as likely to experience bias from having time in a J-3, towing banners, CFI'ing, pipeline, or anything else.

On the other hand, if the person you're talking to has interest in experimentals or any other non-typical flying experience, it may indicate you're talking with a better pilot ;) and actually help in the interview process.

Generally speaking, the more different planes you've flown, the better the aviator.

Agreed

If it’s go an N number log it, just be sure to put experimental or homebuilt in the remarks section of you logbook.

I’ve got around 90 or so hours I logged in an experimental biplane the father of a buddy built all logged that way, never had a question asked or a problem with it.

Why? When you log time in a 172, do you put normal catagory in the remarks sections. What about the G-IV, do you log transport catagory? My time in the IV just referenced AMEL and Jet. Experimental is just another catagory. If it's SEL, then it's SEL.

Personal experience, 500 of my 1500 hrs when hired by one of the larger regionals was in my RV-6A. No questions, or problems with it. Don't try to make this any harder than it needs be.
