Without getting bitch slapped.

I have a question about my logged time. 5 years ago I owned a number of planes. I started with a single and ended up with a light twin for business purposes. I flew them, by myself, around the west to business opportunities and meetings. I logged my flight time and my training recieved for endorcements during this time. I usually flew one to two days a week over a two year period. I sold the twin a year ago and the business this spring to a larger company. I am currently trying to finish off my Comm and MEI Inst. and SEI Comm.

My question is, I would like to go onto a flying job, but I do not know if all the hours I logged, will be recieved as countable hours because I did not get them as an Instructor. Most of my 800+ hours are from the business side of my sold company. What would the regionals say about the hours, and the number of times a week I flew over the two year period ?

Those are great flying hours...they show initiative. When 135 and 121 opertors ask you about those hours, don't be afraid to tell them about it.

I flew my own twin cessna as an field service tech of a company for about 300 hours over the course of several years...my first 135 job interview went well. That job started me out at 32,000 a year flying people around in piston twins of all kinds and led up to flying in turboprops and jets at that company. In my second year there, I grossed 38,000.

If you kept your fuel reciepts, that's a good thing also...if someone asks you during an interview if you can back up your log book, you'll be able to show them something. It's not required, but my partner in the twin was asked that at a freight outfit by the owner. Funny thing was he was claiming he flew 500 hours of private piston twin time in less than two years...I don't know what the delio was there, but I think the owner of the freight operation was smelling Parker 51 time.

Let me see if I understand this: you're concerned because your flight time consists of hands-on business flying multiple-times per week and usually associated with meeting business-imposed schedule instead of sitting around watching someone else bounce a 152?

You're golden buddy! I know a couple guys that went out and bought themselves a Baron after training and flew abot 800+ hours in it, then walked right onto the pilot job market. Your very lucky to have done that and to obtain the experience you gained from it!
