This software is pushed hard on this website.
I am wondering, does anyone USE it? How many of the members on here actually use this?

I use LogBook Pro and I'm sure many other pilots on this board use it as well. However, I think if it were any more expensive, i would have passed on it.
Of course I have my Jepp logbook but that thing is a mess so i have the computer one to crosscheck my totals in the Jepp and in case i want to impress a potential employer or fellow pilot with a neat logbook printout or analysis.

I use it as well. I agree with the expense of it, but found it to be very good and totaling things up specifically. For instance, PIC, Turbine, and IMC at night. Stuff like that. I used to keep a Jepp Logbook, but found this to be alot easier for entry's.

I printed everything out when I interviewed a few years ago and they seemed impressed that it was very neat. Guess they thought I was too. My wife will NOT AGREE with the previous statement.

I most debly use it! But, you're in luck, it looks like they just offered it for $20+ off and I sure wish I could have paid $20 less! I'm happy with it though, it's worth every penny and then some!

I've used it for about a year and a half. I like it. It does everything I want it to do.

If I have to figure out the numbers for the Airnet flight time grid, I just click on the "analyzer" function, and configure for dates and type of flying to fill in all the blanks. Want an 8710? It's built in.

Nice package. Considering what other applications can cost for a computer, this is inexpensive.

I use it.

Watch out for the following problems:

1) When printing, you will have a very hard time setting up to print duplex, and it will not line up no matter how hard you try. I spent 5+ hours trying to get it lined up properly and it still is not perfect. The paper that MGO ENt sells is very expensive so test out your printer with cheap paper first.

2) remember the code that you recieve after you buy the software. If you loose your code you will have to buy a whole new copy of logbook pro. NO MATTER WHAT.

3) There is no 1-800 number for "help" with the program. If you have any problems, you have to get help online. There is no body to talk too.

4) The logbooks for MGO Ent are very expensive, as is the paper. The logbook binders will only take 100 or so pages. They say that the binders are 3/4 inch. in reality the rings are only 1/2 inch.

Other than that, the program works pretty good although I think it could be improved, and the product support could be improved as well. If you are the type that needs to talk to a human when you are having problems, I do not recommend this program. If online support is o.k. for you - go ahead. The extras are also very expensive.

Cheers.

I worked around that printer issue after many long hours and countless poundings to my printer by simply printing them all out. Going to Kinko's and have them put it togehter. Did alot better job than I ever could.

It wasent cheap though.

From what I have heard, and my current stage of flying, the only thing that has raised my eye so far is the 8710 form you can do with it. I have no need to re-print my logbook with this program (I have the big jepp one now, that works just fine).
It seems that if I purchase this program, I can plan on spending hours inputing all the data from my current logbooks into the program. That is the only eye-sore I see so far.

Logbook Pro

I also use Logbook Pro, mainly because work can email me my current times in an excel format and I can import them into the program very easily. The import function is very good and allows you to pick and choose what items you want to import etc. As for tech support, any questions asked on the logbook pro web board are answered immeidiately. The only gripe I have is the upcharge for the PDA version but hey we all want something for free right.

my 2 cents.....

I'm close to buying this thing, just to have an electronic backup of my lob book, and to be able to analyize flight time.

I am considering the Standard version, as I don't know why I woudl want to pay extra to have it at 2 computers at once...

plus a question...how easy is it to "change" computers and still have all your data with you? i.e. unintalling and re-installing the software on other computers, and restoring backups is the way I'm guessing it would work...

I downloaded the free version...so I have to pay and get a"key number" to unlock it? and then use this key number every time I want to install it...and it's always done from the website ftp thing?

what's in the CD?
