Is there more info on lj aviation. I live about 30 miles away and just got a call to interview. Anyone know about the starting pay and current working conditions.

From what I understand, starting salary is around $21K, with thepossibility to increase after 6 mos. The schedule is 12 on, 2 off. Itseems like they will work you pretty hard for those 12 days too, butthat may depend on what aircraft you fly. According to their website,RON average around 7 per month. Attrition is fairly high. That's whatI've heard through from a friend who has been working there a couplemonths.

I've known Ed (owner) for quite a long time. He is a very hard working, extremely personable guy. Ditto, his two sons that also fly for him. His wife, who runs dispatch can be a little difficult. While I have never worked for him, I fly with, and know several pilots who have. You will upgrade quickly, and make a decent buck. The biggest negative I can think of would be the schedule. But, if you are trying to build jet time or seeking types, it may be for you. Last I heard, employment contracts were a requirement before attending initial training.

Schedule can't be too bad. I was on reserve at Eagle in ORD until I quit. I spent 1 night a week at home. That was only if the weather was good enough to commute home to PIT.

A quick upgrade would be great considering it would have been well into the next decade before I upgraded at Eagle.
