With a little more then 100 airplanes AS makes almost 1 million per airplane with none of their pilots motivated or trying! That is the by far the best ratio in the industry… Cost neutral ladies and gentlemen that’s all we can afford.

Yep, record profit and they sky is still falling and there is always enough money to pay higher fuel costs, management bonuses, and stock repurchasing but never any money to pay the pilots fairly.

Wait for it........

Here comes the article to rebuff that, of course.....

Alaska Air sees 4th-qtr loss, weaker full-yr profit

Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:58pm EDT
WASHINGTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Alaska Air Group Inc (ALK.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the parent of Alaska Airlines, said on Thursday it expects a loss for the fourth quarter, and anticipates the full-year profit will be lower than 2006.
In a conference call with analysts and reporters on the third-quarter performance, company officials generally cited the impact of very high fuel prices and seasonal fluctuations in travel demand. Officials did not offer more specific information about its outlook.
Wall Street analysts expect Alaska Air Group to earn 9 cents per share in the fourth quarter, according to Reuters Estimates.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Congratulations! I hope your first year pay goes back up in the next contract talks. It would be nice to be able to jump ship without draining some savings.

You my friend are clairavoyant(sp)....Recent PIC class words of encouragment from old Bill. "We are going to be cost neutral with or without you"....estimates for new contract are running late 2010 to mid 2011......They have decided that they do not ever need to make us happy nor motivate us again...and with those kind of numbers it really is true.....in the left seat finally after 8 years and my take home pay is within a couple hundred dollars of my pre-Kasher co-pilot pay........Lots to look forward to here.....

I know this is an Alaska thread but to add to the sky is falling. Here at Horizon the company website says "AAG 3Q results released worst Q in five years for Horizon". Horizon still took home $7.5million with about half the fleet grounded for a week. Plus the increased mx costs of subleasing the Q200 to Commutair. But mgt. doesn't know what we are gonna do but they do know our wages and benefits have gone up since 99'.

I'm so disgusted with Ayer Group earnings antics concerning Horizon, I could Bill.

Anyone have a good handle on how Horizon entering that phony-ass capacity purchase agreement with AS has impacted our "reported" earnings? Seems like ever since the geniuses at Angle Lake announced that particular three card monty game, our earnings have been "disappointing."

I want CEO's and management paid only once every five years based off the five years of profit and loss taken as a whole.

These management types get paid by the quarter with their bonus programs. They make a killing every time their options are exercisable while never being forced to return their ill gotten gains the next quarter the true numbers are posted.

When your in charge of the reporting, it is easy to extort money out of the bonus programs. This behavior is criminal and labor should withhold service when it occurs.
