Cost neutral ladies and gentlemen that’s all we can afford.
Yep, record profit and they sky is still falling and there is always enough money to pay higher fuel costs, management bonuses, and stock repurchasing but never any money to pay the pilots fairly.
Here comes the article to rebuff that, of course.....
Alaska Air sees 4th-qtr loss, weaker full-yr profit
Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:58pm EDT
WASHINGTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Alaska Air Group Inc (ALK.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the parent of Alaska Airlines, said on Thursday it expects a loss for the fourth quarter, and anticipates the full-year profit will be lower than 2006.
In a conference call with analysts and reporters on the third-quarter performance, company officials generally cited the impact of very high fuel prices and seasonal fluctuations in travel demand. Officials did not offer more specific information about its outlook.
Wall Street analysts expect Alaska Air Group to earn 9 cents per share in the fourth quarter, according to Reuters Estimates.
Bye Bye--General Lee
I know this is an Alaska thread but to add to the sky is falling. Here at Horizon the company website says "AAG 3Q results released worst Q in five years for Horizon". Horizon still took home $7.5million with about half the fleet grounded for a week. Plus the increased mx costs of subleasing the Q200 to Commutair. But mgt. doesn't know what we are gonna do but they do know our wages and benefits have gone up since 99'.
I think AS managment just gave more then half of their pilot X-mas off!
