So that's how you've managed in the 1900 for this long? Glad I escaped before having to resort to that.

On the plus side, even the honey pot in the Ultra will be a step up for you if (when) you get on with NetJets.

344 gallons total (factory standard) and only 30-40 gallons an hour (long range cruise)...I stop at 6.5 because I don't want to have a kidney failure by age 30 (I'm sure the drinking doesn't help)

Not saying the Dash is that quiet, but most of the guys wear the 750 and don't use the hot mic. Not too comfortable to sit and wear DCs with one ear piece pulled away.

The -300's are quieter up front than either RJ in my opinion. Not so much at takeoff, but definately in cruise.

Don't worry about it. Your liver and kidneys are just like any other muscle in your body. You gotta excersize them.....

At PDT, we dont have fms's or stuff like that, we usually just take star shots, celestial stuff, hope your up on it. Dont forget your sextant. Gets tough to go direct when the little dipper gets clouded over.

This is what i bought, expensive but worth it. Easy to replace wheels(rollerblade wheels) and is built like a tank. Fits in overheads and hold alot of crap.

There are headsets provided in each aircraft, but they suck.. Get you some Telex 750's. UNS and KNS 660's in the aircraft.

I never wore anything less than David Clarks (with earplugs) in any turboprop.

Bose in the RJs, and Sennheiser's (ANR) in the Boeing.

Be careful listening to these jokers.

I would recommend a mid-grade flight case, wheels optional as your overnight bag will have them and you can strap your case to it.

A Purdyneat overnight bag if you are going to keep it inside the plane. If it's going in the trunk ala Saab 340, just buy the cheap ones as you will be replacing them every couple years regardless of the brand.

Only get a backpack if you are on your way to Pinnacle and then you would need the CREW tag tied onto it as well.

Lots of hair gel. Many of the captains will be needing to borrow some.

As far as crew tags go, make sure you get the ones for the mainline carrier that your airline flies for.

Oh and don't forget to upgrade you stock wheels on your roller to the flashing ones.

My CFI flight instructor here makes you get a recorder for flight debriefs so I am already set!

On first year pay, I recommend the $30 catalog case from Office Depot for your jepps and such. Mine is holding up well so far. Don't forget your holding pattern computer to make sure the FMS did a good job of choosing the correct FAA entry. Also a little phonebook for all the numbers of the non-stop tail you pick up in airport terminals

no. the dash is definitely not that quiet, and the guys who don't use the headset to talk, even during takeoff, drive me insane. it seems confined mostly to the PDT guys. you'll find that a lot of the old allegheny guys actually use david clarks or something similar.

in fact, recently, an FAA inspector was doing a line check and couldn't believe that some of our planes didn't have a hot mic that could be left on with out holding down a switch (some guys would stick a pen in or something to hold it open). as a result PDT is now re-installing all the hot mic switches on the ones that don't already have them.

well, my purdy neat bag needed complete overhaul after three years....thanks NWA (i only commuted for a short while to melvis. But, the over haul only cost 28 bucks since it was covered under warranty. My flight case i used the theory that i might use if for years to come......so i bought a Scott bag....and now i am looking at working for a bankrupt carrier and giving up this circus side show.......glad i almost have my visa paid off hahahahaha
