Implementation - optimistically 18-24 months after the NPRM hits the streets; probably longer

Waivers/exemptions for pilots reaching age 60 prior to implementation - None willl be issued

Will the change be retroactive - no one who turned age 60 prior to implementation will be able to return

Medical - hinted of no changes, but very noncommittal; danced around it.

Period of change - there will be a transition period; it will not happen all at once.

Bizjets - do not anticipate any age restrictions

FAA controllers - no change to age 56 retirement. 'Because it's the law of the land.'

I enjoy your posts regarding A60... thank you. I watched Administrator Blakey's speech today and thought she said the new A65 rule could possibly be implemented in 18-24 months from now rather than 18-24 months from when the NPRM is announced. Am I hearing it wrong? Thanks.

V1 ROT8, you're right. Using the link that I've posted, the question over implementation starts at ~26:50. Ms Blakey answered that it was optimistic to expect implementation in 18 mos or 2 yrs; no reference tying it to the NPRM release date. Thanks for the correction.

Hi all. First official post. Andy, keep the info. coming, we really enjoy it. Just sent an e-mail to Prater. Stressed that ALPA didn't count those on furlough and still voted to uphold age 60. Also that he should accept the direction of the majority over his personal views. I think it will help to keep these e-mails very professional.
