someone posted a gripe about a line man who didn't fuel his plane

a couple months ago i read about a FRONTIER groundcrew man in Denver who threw a big rubber wheel chock into a 737 engine to stop a departure that he thought was not airworthy.

I used to be an aircraft refueler at an airport served by Usair Jetstreams. One day after fueling, the crew began to start with the assistance of a power-cart that was connected to the main terminal with a thick cord shrowded by a flexible PVC pipe type material....Anyways, upon start up the pilots gave the disconnect signal and the ground crew dude went to get the power cord out and "whipped" the cord to get it closer so he could get the cord out...well when he did , he whipped it high enough for the left engine to suck up the cord, and the Engine turned about 3 times and came from ground idle to a dead stop. YIKES!

Why were they starting the No 1 with the gpu still hooked up? We usually start the No 2, have it disconnected, then start the left side.

i know a guy at eagle in san juan who was filling out a form while his engines in an ATR were idling. he drifted forward and hit a battery cart and totaled the plane and lost his job. it might've been in a shorts.
