This 3G's DO have an external audio jack. They come with cords for your cell phone or MP3. They also have very high quality sound when listening to music, and can be set to automatically mute the music when there is an ATC transmission.

I wonder how good they are in an Embraer or CRJ.
Must be a lot quieter than a pair of David Clarks. Although they look heavy and bulky like DC's.

The Zulu is my first Lightspeed set and they aren't heavy/bulky at all. Complete opposite, actually. I suggest trying them on in a shop if you can. Looking at them online doesn't do them justice. I was SOLD on the comfort and they are sooooooooo much more light weight than my old clunky headset. Love it.....:beer:

I just flew using my Zulu headset for the first time and it is great. It is really light, and you can barely tell it on on your head. There are about 7 small switches inside of the battery base that change the settings on the headset. You can change mono/stereo, mic settings for loud vs soft intercom, etc. Great headset if you are flying a turboprop.

The website says it weighs "a little over 13 ounces" verses Bose's 12 ounces, so it's a little heavier. The option for bluetooth or wire ipod input is pretty cool. It looks like it was made for music which means the music sound quality should be better than the Bose, which doesn't have it's own connection. The Lightspeed also has a feature to block out open mic noise, you know the annoying noise you hear when the other guy leaves his mic open.

The verdict is out on durability and head pressure, but it looks like a pretty good product. I'm a die-hard Bose and this is the first headset I've seen that intrigues me.

I recently purchased a Lightspeed Zulu headset and it works great. It cuts down on the noise quite a bit in the turboprop that I fly. I can't believe the difference it makes compared to my old passive headset. I highly recommend buying one if you are looking at ANR headsets.

For about three months I have owned both the Bose X headset and the new LightSPEED Zulu headset (actually, three of them). Because of this, and the fact that I've been asked elsewhere a number of times for my impressions of the two, I finally sat down to write it up.

It is admittedly long, but I hope it helps a few of you in your search.

Everytime I fly with someone who has Bose. I laugh to myself. Over priced, low quality product. If you know anything about high-end audio products, you'll never buy bose.
