QFRXCc: Lighter weight and a mix of ANR and PNR. Good, but not the best of either world apparantly.

I'll second that a dead ANR is rather useless, simply because there really isn't any passive NR built into the set, ie. no foam to deaden the sound. I almost decided to finish the last 5 minutes of a flight w/o ANR, but couldn't handle it. You get real good at swapping batteries in flight.

If you get a chance, stop by Airways at LNS. That have a nice selection and you can try all the headsets they carry, listen to ATC and try to inject some airplane noise to test the NR. Lightspeed 30-3Gs blew me away compared to Telex Stratus, the QFRs and other models of Lightspeed.

Sounds like the Lightspeeds arent very durable. I'm still contemplating what ANR to purchase. I've had DC 13.4's for many years but the volume has been dcreasing as of late. Are the Bose very durable. If I did get the LSpeeds, it would be the thirty 3G's.
