That is some funny stuff. I seriously don't think this guy is a comair pilot. Probably somebody at another airline just messing around. If he truly went to new hire class, he wouldn't pass the roll call.

You dont even have to sign for the airplane. Quit whining and go back to the negotiating table. Ill keep doing my thang at comair. BTW ill help replace the FAs if need be.

Do you ever think that maybe we have feelings too and are dreaming of a career someday flying the heavy iron internationally. Just cause you've made it doesn't give you a licensce to put us down. It looks like you FORGOT to plan for your future. That's why you're so militant about your current situation. When are people going to learn that you can't just get a job, stop learning, and let "the company" take care of you. What are your priorities in life? Once you put your job first, you are the one who is lost.

That just goes to show how pathetically stupid you are! My aviation career is not my first job and not my "job first." The reaspm I'm so militant about my current situation is that dumb asses like you think you know it all, and you have NO CLUE what is going on at DL, but that shouldn't affect the way you judge people now should it?

Don't get me wrong, I stongly sympathize with the situation at delta. And yes, I am relatively clueless as to what is really going on there. However, the reason I am busting your ba11s is the way you are bashing other people who are posting on this board. I really meant it when I said that you sound more stupid when you respond in that way. Your gay bashing is completely unacceptable! I wish you and your fellow delta pilots all the best. I sincerely hope you hold the line against management. They need to be forced to do a more efficient job at running the airline, and cutting employees pay and lowering moral does not equal efficiency.

Sorry not all pilots were made from a cookie cutter. We don't all buy into the bs of being a sacraficial lamb for just any reason. Again FO pay isnt always quite what captain pay is because we don't sign for the plane. Thats why his pay is higher, ours is a bit lower however when you AVERAGE them out its not so bad. Plus you have a lady working too your income can carry you pretty far in life. These guys just get ticked off because some don't think the same way they do. They want everyone to be willing to scream HOOAH and fall on their sword. I can see frustrations with taking a 50% paycut however after negotiating it probably won't be that much. Just remember this is the usual ALPA game only reversed. It used to be ok NWA got X% more so we need X% +5. Then Ohhhh American got X% plus 10 so we need X% plus 15. Now its just the opposite. Well United took X-15 so Airways can do X-20.

Sorry this just part of the game our lovely ALPA created. They reap what they sow Live by the sword die by the sword is what they always say. If ALPA had negotiated reasonable contracts to begin with then they probably wouldnt come asking for all that $$$. I realize its important to have a fair and economical contract that can get you through the bad as well as the good times. Im all for us making good money but we need to at least work for it. The glory days are over. Those lavish contracts we all loved can only be sustained in a good economy with higher airfares. Now its time to be competitive and stop living in dream world. I realized this, at first it makes you angry then you realize its out of our control. Airfares can only go so high before you lose your customer base. It doesnt help much to have higher fares but a lot more empty seats. The big problem is theres an over capacity of seats and everyone wants delta to be the sacraficial lamb. I actually hope to see the old dog live another day. Ahhhh low blood pressure is great.

Then out of the other part of your pie hole you say that we should negotiate higher payscales. Either you are a management puke in disguise or just a flame baiter, either way you are just one annoying prick!
Watch out, when MESA buys CMR, you'll be treated like the little bitch you are! Your paycut will be nasty, and you might even (boy I hope so) be out of work!

Whether the airline survives a strike or not, at least you'll have you ego and pride, which in your world is whats "marketable". But good luck to you when your on the street and the airlines replace your so called "UN-expendable Experience," with as you view, a "reservation agent" level skilled pilot.

Destruction of the profession please. You guys really should try out for brodway sometime. Youd make great drama actors. You may even win a tony! How is the profession being destroyed when most are not only still surving after deep paycuts but thriving. Thats right you heard me thriving. You wanna show the percentage of people making over 100K/year in the US. It surely isnt much and it isnt that easy to just walk away and go make 100K again. You have to work a lot harder than you ever would in this career. Unfortunately management has realized we are replaceable. We are not replaceable right away but there are still plenty of people out there willing to do the job for less. If an airline strikes then that is the end of that airline. However there are tons of other airlines just praying for this so they can swoop in and get the flying after liquidation. Sorry my friend the profession is alive and well. Oh wait I forgot to say HOLD THAT LINE, YOU HAVE BALL$, now its your turn to say "finally someone who gets it." Thats how things seem to work. If you dont think exactly like everyone wants you too then they go ballistic. You guys give me too much credit, im no lawyer nor am I management. As far as the downfall of comair is concerned im not worried a bit. The paycuts will be had by all and we live to fight another day. I don't have a dog in this fight but I think Lars! hit it out of the park. No way in hell a Delta reservations agent wrote this. Propaganda. A reservations agent can go get another job in a couple weeks making the same or probably more money with that so called accounting degree. Not to mention Airtran would be another Atlanta option. Most of those pilots will not be getting new jobs at the same pay, probably closer to a 50%-75% cut in pay and bennies if they all moved on to other flying jobs. That letter smells like cow manure.

Not entirely true. If a regular CS agent (not a supervisor or manager) with, for instance, 20 years of service leaves for another airline, he/she would start at the bottom of the seniority list just like a pilot.

I do not believe any airline would honor (pay-wise) years of service spent at another airline.

If that same agent were to find another type of CS job (not airline-related), then maybe he/she would be able to find a company willing to reward him/her for those years of CS in the airline industry.

A CS supervisor or manager could theoretically, however, find a comparable job at another airline and therefore be paid more or less on the same scale.
Then again, airlines would require knowledge in using their respective reservation system, which may very well be vastly different than what one has been using for 20 years.

Eventhough I doubt this letter is authentic, it could very well have been.

Delta management has laid some huge eggs in the past couple years and they want to blame it all on the pilots and employees. Who took the most profitable airframe and made it a LCC lookalike? Management!!! Who cut fares whith an 87% load factor? Management! There is alot more to this than meets the eye. This threat to shut down the airline is about one thing and one thing only. That is putting a HUGE nail in ALPA's coffin aka Union busting.
