merger mania has now begun if the merger of us airways and delta.

I wonder what the other combinations will be? it should be interesting.

just remember that this merger is about money for the executives and they don't care about the people who work there.
 
I'm sure all the execs from UAL, AA, NWA, CAL are scrambling. Also read yesterday that Airtran and Frontier combined their Frequent Flying Agreement...hmmm..

Consolidation of this industry was the talk 10-12 years ago, could this be the beginning??? Time will tell.
 
Quick, name one airline of legacy size that can't even fly across the border to Vancouver for a cup of soup and what is the quick fix? A cheap fix that would enable them to fly to Rome for a silce of pizza by this spring.

NEW YORK, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines (DALRQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research), which got a takeover offer from US Airways Group (LCC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) valued at $8 billion, is focused on emerging from bankruptcy as a stand-alone carrier, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
"As we have said all along, Delta is focused on emerging as a stand-alone company," spokeswoman Betsy Talton said.
