3rd year Caravan Captain at FedEx's regional; Feeder Aircraft Operations...$40,000.00. Per diem adds in another 3,888 bucks.

550 flight hours a year, 144 work days a year. Home every night, no Sundays, no holidays, no Rons, no non-sched flying, no pager, no cell phone, no box throwing, no pushing, layover is in a hotel...not a crew room.

It's not the prettiest flying job out there, but any job is what you make of it.

Guys... I'm not a regional pilot. I'm a fractional pilot. I'm in my 5th year as an FO and my base was in the vicinity of 45000. IS the grass always greener??

My story

3-4 yr lineholder CA PCL

71,204 includes per diem

Can't remember how much open time. I only picked up to get hotels.
Highlites for me were 23 days off in a row in May. 11 days off in a row in August. 11 days in a row in October. 9 in a row in Decemeber. Got 11 in a row as we speak. Vacation slide and moving days setup to do it again this May. Don't know how many hours I flew.... I heard a 5 yr union rep made 90,000 picking up open time on days off around trips that were bought out for association leave.
