Sorry to hijack this thread, but Crashpad brought up an interesting point (no, not the commuter-guys shouldn't buy babies or make houses :P )

I am in the upper 1/3 of the list at ACA. I'm a CRJ CA making descent cabbage. There is no way I will ever hold Airbus CA unless the fleet grows to approx 50 airframes (according to our 10-K we have orders for 25 w/ 50 options.) This may happen (but only if things go well and we excericise the options -- and even then it would take 3-4 years.)

Or Independence could fall on it's face.

I have a good friend at SWA. Should I buy the type (go into debt) and apply? Or should I stick it out at ACA/Independence and see where it leads? (Top pay on the bus will be $140/hr in 2007.)

I have valued every opinion on this thread so far.

Goggles- For what it is worth, my friend's wife is a Capt/IP at SWA. She told me not to get the type until an offer is at hand.

Good luck-

Goggles:

I got an interview with LUV back in 2000 and did'nt have the 737 type. I did'nt have an LOR either. Not to hijack the thread back, but I thought the folks at LUV tried hard to appear to be something they're not...one big happy family. F9, on the other hand, is unpretentious and honestly pleased to be working with customers and employees alike.

Ty,

I have 94 hours of pay this month with 16 days off! With vacation next month I have 23 days off and 78 hours of pay. No complaints here at all. I'm going to hold you to that commutable thing by Spring though! I couldn't be happier with AAI and I think the thread starter will probably feel the same way if he leaves ASA for F9. Heck, we might just all end up working at the same company one day anyway. I forsee some consolidation among the LCC's in the next 24 months. If I'm correct I want to start an IAHERJ Report like Boyd and have people quote me as an expert all over the media outlets. I can throw the dice as good as he can.

IAHERJ

I agree..

I think we'll at least see some code sharing between LCCs, but they don't ask us they tell us:)

What is "LCCs"? Thought about it for a moment; low cost carriers?

Don't know if it was brought up elsewhere, but do you have at least 1000 PIC turbine? I've read where others have moved on to opportunities that didn't work out as planned and then were kinda of stuck becuase they didn't have the PIC time.

Wow....

Thanks everyone, this has been one of the most positive threads on these boards in awhile. No one is yelling and it hasn't turned into a DCI/RJDC thread (yet!). :-) For real though, all good stuff and making me explore lots of thoughts-which is exactly what I was looking for. Be good to each other!

Some New Frontier Plans

Last Thursday we announced DEN-PHL and LAX-PHL.

Today we announced DEN-BIL, DEN-GEG, DEN-BNA, and are adding a ton of frequency to current destinations!

Go to F9---it does look like they are expanding---even though I question some of the new LAX routes---MSP and PHL..? I know they want to compete with NW and US---but I think that they could have used those planes to go through their hubs more and avoid the 5 or 6 hour transcons. ATA just gave up EWR to SFO, and from what I have heard the AWA A319 transcons aren't doing as well as expected (correct me if I am wrong please). I would still advise him to go to F9.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:
