I am about 6'3" tall and just wondering if anybody else is this tall with long legs and has trouble fitting in a lear. how do you make yourself comfortable?
 
It sucks. There's not much you can do but put the seat all the way back. Even that is not enough. Anything more than 2 hours and I'm ready to get out of the thing.
 
One thing that helps is to take the back seat cushion "the back support" off it will gives you a few more inches or so. I used to do it on some that didn't slide back as far. 6'3" is about the tallest though I have flown with guys 6'5" and they have been doing it for 15 -20 years.

I'm 6'4" and have been flying them off and on for @ 4 years. The 35s have a little more room IMHO but if you are flying a 20 series luckily you need to find a gas station about 2.5 after takeoff.
 
I'm only 6'1" and I found it to be very crowded. I also had trouble with my knees getting in the way of the yoke in turns. We have several big guys where I work flying 20 series lears and they manage. I on the other hand only flew one around the pattern once and decided I didn't like it.
 
No, we've got one guy that works for us that hased to run the seat forward. He's probably 5'5" or so. So there's at least 2 of ya.

6'4" with about 1200 hours in them about 18 years ago.

Enjoy the 20 series, you get paroled after 2.5 hours, 3.0 for the deadstick.

Our little group got real excited when a shiny new mini EFIS 35 showed up on the ramp. All except me. 4+ is pure hell, and that was in my early 20's weighing in at 185.

I think my Xrays would still show bone spurs outside my left knee from the airbrake handle and my right temple from the window rail thingy. Fly it long enough and you'll see stars if you take a jolt unprepared ;) Add to the fun if you fly with a midget who likes to show how he can stretch his legs out straight.
 
Yeah I just get in the back and sleep on the freight so I am only stuffed in that cockpit for 45 minutes at a time maybe. Oh yeah that is not professional???? Sorry but at 6-2 I hinder the full movement of the flight controls so I think it is ok
 
I am 6'4" and I prefered the 25s vs. the 35s for comfort. With the center console missing in the 25s it made the leg twitching and moving around easier.
 
Being 6'3" I always had a heckuva time getting in and out of a Lear 35. I had to use the trick of removing the seatback cushion just so I could fit in the seat. Even then, my knees were always in the way of the controls, and my left leg would painfully rub against the friction lock knob while my left knee would risk banging into the flaps and causing a very interesting albeit unexpected maneuver. With my legs being as long as they were, I didn't have any of my weight supported by my legs on the seat so it was all in my tailbone. After a night of flying those things my rear end and lower back would hurt so bad I couldn't even stand up.

But 39DK at Airnet was a great plane because the seat went back unusually far. I could sit in it without removing the back cushion. Nice and comfy.
 
I'm 6-5 and not of small stature. The 24's and 25's were basically the same, tight fit, but if i take my shoes off i have full range of motion with the yoke. and I have big legs..

When I was a right seat it was a bit less, because the handle for the emergency brake was in the way, and I didn't want to be in them long enough for my body to "grom around" the Lear
