Think about the ramifications of a NO vote
After the NMB authorizes an election, and by the time it does take place, FLOPS management will undoubtedly have made inuendos of significant pay raises if the pilots vote "No" to representation. For all of you sitting on the fence, believing that a No vote will bring you quicker satisfaction in the form of better pay and QOL, think again. They will certainly come through with a couple of improvements to your work rules and compensation, but you can bet your a$$ that they will be far short of what you might hope for. Yes, the process of electing a representative, forming a committee, negotiating and ratifying a contract is going to be a long one, but it is the only way to ensure that your futures are protected. Why it is important to get it right the first time? The second opportunity to authorize an election would take a very long time.
I'm no longer an Options pilot (7 months removed), but I have good friends there, and my coworkers and I do have a stake in the outcome of your bid for better compensation. My boss walked into our hangar two weeks ago with a copy of FLOPS current pay scale.
Good luck. We're all watching and hoping.
