Col F/o

I am looking for a girl named Noel. She is ex-Express jet and has been at CO since 98. I think she is based at EWR but do not know what she flies. She is an old friend from flying on Long Island years ago and I'd like to get in touch with her again to see if she might help me with my application. Thank you.

Great stuff! I'm looking around and can't seem to find this info, but I'm pretty bad with their computer system. I put in a bid that I didn't think I had a shot at. Now looking at the numbers, I think I better reconsider. :D

Be careful what you bid for.. You might just get it.

Oh, and if you're senior to me, stay off NYC756.. it sux. Much better QOL on the 737 out of Newark. Everyone says so!

If you're on the 756... the 777 is the place to be..!

I think I've got a month over you and the 756 is sounding great. My friend recommended the 73 over the 756 when I got hired because he said that QOL will be better. After flying the line on the 73, I'm going to have to disagree.

Well after flying 99:30 (hard block time) on reserve in EWR (FO) QOL can only get better. I am sure it is due to a combination of EWR meltdowns / Short Staffing/ Summer Flying / Getting me off high mins, but for the last few days I would crawl into a ball and start shaking when the phone rings.

Make the bad man (Crew Sched) stop!!!!

Yeah I hate to admit it, but from talking to my friends on the 737 and my own experiences, the QOL on the 756 is lightyears ahead. Most of the flying is to Europe, so you get to miss MOST of the afternoon wx/delays (with the exception of your airplane being stuck in MCO while it's now your departure time to EDI.. that sucks and makes for a late night). Two legs in 3 days with 14-20hrs of block isn't bad, either.

If you commute, 756 is more commutable. If you live locally, most of the trips are late starts so you miss all the inbound rushhour traffic to the NYC area. Same thing going home...

This is a guess and doesn't apply to you AC, but I imagine that RSV on the 756 is going to be longer for someone hired today that even a few months ago since the DH pay is slowly working it's way back up. If someone wants to hold a line as fast as possible, the 737EWR is the way to go.

I'm fortunate enough to have held a line for the past four or five months and it doesn't feel much different. I've been averaging 95 hours without trying. It's mostly because I fly afternoons and get the weather delays so I can't blame CAL.

Well, your friend Doug got most of his info from me I was his sponsor. So if the advice has not been good for you I apologize. My other friend who I sponsored is a week senior to Doug and all he does is transcons (moslty 800)and personal drops down to 75 to 80 hours mostly the lower amount. He flys weekends but is off most of the week and of course doesn't answer his phone on off days. It's up to you I know you came off the 756 at North American so you have already been spoiled on the 756 and I can understand where you are coming from.

But think about this I am bidding 45% as a Captain and primarily do Central and South America and for the most part only do one leg a day in the 800. So don't give up on the 737 yet with a little more seniority you might be pleasantly surprised. In fact my GYE trip has been going very junior in the right seat and they trade most of them away. I don't understand all night EWR/GYE in an aircraft that wasn't built to go that far deviating around thunderstorms with no fuel and a very active Volcano in Ecuador. Oh yeah we get escorted to and from the airport by armed guards too, but really it's a great trip.
