Just curious (and extremely bored) as to what the largest annual bonus that you have received or known someone (flight crew member) to have received. Mine was 4K at my last job and it came 3 days before XMAS and never hurt my feelings to get the "Your bouns check is in your box" call. She would get the 1st few words out then she would be talking to herself, as I had already dropped the phone and headed to the airport then to the bank to cash that bad boy. Loved walking out of the bank with 4K ON ME.

In a previous post, I wrote of a good friend of mine that once worked for Harpo Studios. He left that job and went to work for a very low key Billionaire, and his annual bonus was 20K cash, yes, the green stuff that gets put in a safe deposit box. He had a base salary of over 100K, so he would take a 2 week vacation and blow the 20 large on women, booze, limos, and Vegas and Hawaii, all in 2 weeks. It was fun just to watch.

This should be good.

working for individuals best I did was 10K (cash in envelope)

working for THE MAN (big evil company) 4-10% of salary.

(but then they tax that chit)

I spend mine on reputable charaties or the church, not on toys booze or broads.

I got $200 bucks cash and a $100 gift certificate to Heavenly Ham one year. Beat that...tailwinds.

I got a big round goose egg!!

Just an atta-boy you do a good job...

I work for Fortune 50.

Consider yourselves lucky to get a bonus :D

I say again....bonus?:erm:

I've been working in various jobs for over 30 years now, in and out of aviation. In all, never have I received a monitary bonus of any kind. I have gotten gift baskets, food, etc., but never any financial compensation.

That being said, I have never been unemployed, fired or layed off, so the pay checks have always come at regular intervals. For that I consider myself lucky!

$40,000 - 3 years in a row.
Sled,
You're killing me man.
You guys need any help in '06????

Yeah right... I did get a company car for a day while we were in maintenance once. But as for the bonus I think I got the same Christmas card they sent to people that bought a Lexus last year... :D

Smarta$$ .... :D

You guys are killing me. I have never heard of a bonus as high as you guys are talking about. That's crazy.

I am very fortunate as some others have mentioned. I have never been layed off or lost my job. I have worked for companies during "hard times" and personally made it through several layoffs. I will take my good luckand good fortune as all the bonus I need. Although I wouldn't mind having the cash to go with it.

One tenth of a lovely fruit/salmon/cheese/chocolate basket. It would have been more, but the cheap heavy hungry guy at work got to it first.

I recently left my old job for a new one and was invited to my old jobs christmas party. The onwer gave me a bonus and I dont even work for the company anymore. What a guy, makes me upset that I left such a great company.

$40,000 a year bonus is more then most people make. Does your boss need a son.

who cares what "most" people make?

please tell us all again how the average person lives well with a family of 6 on 32K a year.....

:smash:

drag that talk over to the regional board please. Most of the guys here saying they make 20-40K+ bonuses are very experienced Intl guys flying the highest paying equip. in corp aviation, heck some are even department directors with many years of management experience. A person with such responsibility is certainly not overpaid at the 200K range. Also, outside the airlines and union jobs, 10-25% of your salary bonuses are not unheard of.

These are not 9-5 clock punchers or whiny regional jet pilots flying Walmart customers for a broke a$$ airline.

Your definition of "most people" all depends on where you hang out and who you compare yourself to!

I live in Utah. The capital of people making $32K with 6 children. If you want to know how they do I can tell you.

Nope. You have explained it all.

But, psysicx, my guess is not too many of them safely and efficiently fly the worlds most powerful business people around the world so that they can keep thier businesses successful and competitive? - thus gainfully employing thousands.

my guess is maybe they sell shoes at the mall starting at 10am (or so) each day?

Nothing wrong with selling shoes or such, it honorable...and worth about 32K/yr.

anyways....

This bonus wasn't given by my current boss. The question asked was "What was the biggest bonus you have received?"

The bonuses were always very nice, but the job sucked.

Subscription to "Jam of the month club". Seriously, best was this year, 5 G's.

I just knew somebody would jump in with the "Jelly of the Month Club."

"Clark, thats the gift that keeps on givin' the whole year!"

Got a 25% shot. Don't know how long this gig will last?
Close to 6 figures, not to bad. The local strippers will
be delighted!
That's the truth, but ya know, I could be flyin' news watch
in a 182 next year? (Not sayin' that's a bad thing.)

I got a new digital camera this year from my boss and his family, I was ecstatic to get that. Other than that............bonus? You get to stay employed another year!
