why would someone whom i know is a pilot not show up in their database? i've looked on the faa website and didn't find anyplace to do a search for a pilot. is it there and i'm just missing it, or do they not have that option?

thanks for any info

The Landings.com database only shows pilots with a current medical. Does your firend have a medical? If he does, then I don't know why he wouldn't be in there.

he's flying for a 121 carrier.

Could it be you're using the wrong name? I have a friend named Tommy whose real name is Mark. He got the nickname Tommy when he was a kid and apparantly was somewhat of a Pinball savant. Anywho, a few years ago I was at his house and saw his phone bill on the counter and said, "who the hell's 'Mark'?" He laughed and told me the story.

If I'd done an internet search for him using the name Tommy, I'd have come up empty.

Any certificate-holder can opt-out of releasable information. There is a search fuction on faa.gov, but you have to fill-out a few fields to gain access to it.

Airman info is not available on faa.gov, landings.com, or whatever if the certificate holder has opted-out.

ahhhh, thanks woofer. it's not a common last name and i've searched using last name only, both in state and country-wide. thanks for the input y'all'
