hey guys thanks for the replies. I think Hortman in Northeast Phili might be too far, plus i've heard of a few crashes they have had in the past couple of years. Octgirl1012 and Kaubron did you guys train at or work at either of these places? pm me if necessary. thanks

cowboy--- i've heard of em, whats the deal with that cougar does it have cr props? What about the examiner in the area, tough?

What do you mean by cr props? both advantage and aerotech use mike kuhn for de. Fair and will pass you. typical examiner though, bark bark, no bite.

When I used to go back home to Lancaster to visit (back in 2001), I would rent a Grumman Tiger from Flying Tigers at Donnegal Springs N71. I remember they had a Grumman Cougar they trained in at a reasonable price. I havent been in the area for sometime now, but I would look into them.

the cougar is like most light twins, the props turn clockwise when viewed from the cockpit, making it good for training as the left engine is critical. Aero-techs also has a garmin 430 and a Hsi, dual nav com, dme - the whole works, except an adf (not having a adf makes a checkride a lot nicer) I think. It's a great deal too, I think it's around $160 hr.

I use to instruct at Aerotech and on the cougar, great airplane and great flight school. Mike is a reasonable DE did my Private and MEI with him. After you pass, tell him that you want to go for wings at AB&G too.
