No worries man, it just really sucks to be on the street. Planet had quite the reputation, but I have also never met a pilot who didn't b!tch about his job. I liked the job, it definitely wasn't perfect but the flying was great, and the pay was good. I understand your position, QOL is much more important to me than pay, but I am also worth more than 25k year. That is one reason I quit flying for the regionals, and even then I could live where I wanted and had a set schedule (along with a union and CBA). I just can't comprehend the QOL obtained living in YIP on 15min call out, making $1000/mo. Sure you can make a little more than that by busting your hump, but a base salary of $12,000yr is ludicrous. Anyway, I am done ranting. It just sucks to see this industry being flushed down the toilet, especially since I have 35yrs of flying left. I wouldn't wish a furlough/lay off on anybody, regardless of who they work for. Be glad your company is still in business, the car industry isn't doing so hot these days. Cheers.
