I was that close to going there yesterday morning thanks to you. I live just 2 blocks from one, but still manage to limit myself to 2 visits a year. Don't ask me how.

By the way, I know Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf is still alive. Last week he posted on this thread and stated that KK doughnuts suck.

I want to laydown on the donut conveyor belt and go through the icing waterfall!
Seriously though, at our flight school there is an instrument x/c that ALL the students want to do...CMI-MDW. I figure if we're going that far then we are definitely making the short drive to the KK on harlem. Nothing beats getting handed a fresh donut to help you make your decision! And the KK hats rock!

I've talked with quite a few people who say it's normal for KK to give out free doughnut samples while you wait in line. I guess you buy more when you have a taste of the good stuff!!

I'm on the east coast for a week.. Dunkin Donuts will never be the same for me.

Does K.K. do donut holes? (Yeah, I know that sounds suggestive...just tell me.)

Yeah, when I stopped by KK last week because of f'ing chperplt's thread, they handed me a free glazed donut as I walked in.

Man, they're good!

The first time I tried krispy kreme donuts was on a dispatch to Florida. Our FE saw the sign at a corner shop and went ape. He said eating KK donuts was second only to meeting God, and that we had to try them. Being somewhat of a donivour (like a carnivour, but I eat donuts), I took him up when he offered to buy a bag of donuts. We passed them out on the flight home.

Talk about disappointment. Just a plain old donut, clear glazed. God never intended man to eat simple glazed donuts. They're the devil's doing. (God intended man to eat cake donuts, which is why he provided them to the israelites in the desert-see manna from heaven). I put them back in the bag and didn't eat them (until I got really hungry later in the flight, and my fingers were numb from the cold, and I was nauseus from all the exhaust in the cockpit).

Years later I flew some executives from KK on a charter flight. We picked them up under unfavorable circumstances, and did them a big favor. When we got them where they needed to be, my cohort on that leg gave them a ride to the long term parking to get their car. As a tip, they gave us ONE, that's ONE, coupon for a dozen KK donuts. One coupon for two people, for ratty donuts invented by (can we say "satan" on this board?) that guy .

Today I find myself in need of a cheap priest to exorcise the evil Krispy Kreme folks and bring back the one, true, Dunkin Donut. (and not one run by chinese...gotta add that. No currey, and no chow mein in my donuts). Thus endeth the soapbox.

Krispy Kreme now has a gorgeous Lear 60 so I guess you made your point with them Av. :D

KK RULES!

Avbug man, you need to lay off the crack pipe! Cake donuts are TERRIBLE. There's an astronomy club on campus that sells donuts every Friday in the physics building, and cake donuts are always the ones left over. You should stop by Austin every Friday at around noon, and you can get 2 dozen cake donuts for free. We're not going to eat those disgusting things! :D

Sorry I have to go against the masses on this one.

KK Sucks!!!!!
and not affordable, .80 for a freakin donut (and that is the glazed one) is ludicrous.

It's all about the KK cult.
Just lettin u know how I feel!!:D

If you'd box up those cake donuts and send them to me, I wouldn't have to be on the crack pipe.

At retirement, I hope to own a Dunkin Donuts franchise, that sells women's hygeine products on the side. I'll have a U-haul dealership out back, and will take orders for headstones and grave markers. I figure there will always be a demand for all those things, no matter how bad things get. In fact, the worse things get, the greater the demand.

The donuts will be for me, but the rest will be for profit.

I won't be sending a resume to fly a Lear 60 for a donut shop, or to Coca Cola, because in either case, my life would be over. I could die happy. Much better to suffer through life, the only easy day being yesterday. Take cake donuts for example. Leave them out overnight, and they'd have been much easier to eat yesterday...

Former Manager

I was, in a former life, a manager of a Krispy Kreme store. If you have any doubts that they are the best, you have not tried the "Hot In Now" right off the line. There is a big difference between a cake doughnut and a yeast doughnut. Where did you buy a single Krispy for $.89? Must have been in a convenience store and they were made the night before. A true Krispy Kreme is hot and right off the line. It will melt in the mouth for sure. Wonder how Krispy Kreme can afford a Lear 60? The dozen box(package cost) cost more than the product cost. The Dunkin Donuts in town are closing because Krispy Kreme kicked their ??? :)

I must go against the grain and say that my "all time" favorite would have to come by way of Dunkin' Donuts. KK is pretty good and tolerable but for some reason the smell, aroma, atmosphere of DD I think is tops!! !! !! (just my opinion)- All of our morning flights is catered by Dunkin' Donuts regardless of any requests, kinda of a tradition that I hope continues atleast till I am gone..

Tim Horton's (sp?) is also a pretty good one- they have quite a few in the BUF area that are always "fun" to stop by whenever we are there which isn't much as of late-

DD and TH are where I am goin- :D

Just thought I'd weigh in on this topic. I agree with Avbug, for me, nothing beats an old fashioned cake donut with a light glaze on top. KK's are too greasy, they appeal to the fat Wal-Mart shopping masses of America though so more power to the company.

KK keeps their Lear at INT. They keep the FBO stocked if your planning a xc.

As a New Englander all we know is DD... then i went to college down south and my roommate was from the south, and all he talked about was how good the KK were... well i tried them, good, but i still like my Munchkins. Latest thing they put a KK in Central CT... well it was such a big craze that they had state cops doing traffic control for a week after it opened....
