It's a project by 10 Tanker LLC, out of Victorville, California.

Like Evergreen's B747 tanker project, this one involves the DC-10.

Omni Air out of Tulsa was trying to do the same thing. All of their tail #s end in AX so this might be the one. I don't know of very many people try to jerry-rig a DC-10 to hold flame retardant.

Call me crazy, but this just looks like the wrong tool for the job. A swept wing jet is made for speed, not high maneuverability and wing stregth, which are 2 desireable characteristics when dealing with fire attacks.
