P.S.--I did the same thing to build time. It was great experience! The plane I flew had the hobbs on the gear and we just flew around the pattern while we waited for the pax. That was probably the last good deal I've seen in aviation!

AA717. I think that the difference is the number of furloughed and unemployeed pilots that there are now.
 
We operate a Beechjet 400A and a King Air 200 in South Carolina. Our contract rates are:

Beechjet:
Captain: $400 per day
Co-pilot: $300 per day

King Air
Captain: $350 per day
Co-pilot: $250 per day

There is a charter operator in town that pays King Air pilots:
Captain: $300 per day
Co-pilot: $200 per day
