A 17-mile bike ride for a man his age? That is pretty impressive to me. I don't know too many children that can do that length of a ride. Heck, I probably would have fallen down after the first block!

Dude, the Prez is never "on vacation". He may be away from DC, but he ain't on vacation. Just a little bit of attention paid to current events should show you that the nuclear football is still around when he is on "vacation". He continues to receive daily briefings, he continues to make decisions, he just doesn't stop attending to matters of State when he leaves Washington.

If you don't like the guy, or disagree with him, fine. But you don't gain much credibility when you come up with stupid stuff like this vacation thing. I can come up with better than this, and I'm a right wing Republican. Jeez.

It's not about whether Bush is actually working or not while he's away from Washington. It's the perception that he's taking a vacation all the time. No doubt he's still "working" while in Crawford but you have to remember that America is a nation of "C" students, most of whom don't see him as being "at work" while away from D.C.

He's the leader of the free world for heaven's sake. Don't you think he ought to spend a little more time in front of his nation and the world at least giving the impression that he's in Washington doing his job.

Simply saying that no other president in the history of the country has been on vacation more the President Bush doesn't make it true!

Ever heard of Dwight D. Eisenhower? Man had a REPUTATION for being a better golfer than Cabinet meeting planner. Moreover Americans loved him for it - they gave him two terms!

See the trouble with you liberals is that you think that if you say it everyone has to believe you. I would ask, on what credit? The facts aren't on your side. I can't quite figure out why it is that you guys think that floating a lie as the truth will work. It takes guns, an army, and a willingness to turn them on your own people to do that. The Russians had that, the East Germans had that, the Polish had that, the Rumanians had that, Castro and China STILL have it. That's why they get away with the lies that make up THEIR history - folks are just too afraid to talk about their recollections of things.

Who the hell do you think creates that PERCEPTION. Lemme see it's not that vast right wing conspiracy or conservative talk radio. Hmm, who else would have the power to do that. Oh yeah, it's the people who deliver our news every night. Rather, Brokaw, Jennings and a host of support crew that revolve around around them adding fuel to the fire.

For the record they call it a vacation ANY TIME the president leaves Washington in the summer. At least Bush stays in the country. Here's what 5 minutes of quality time with Google came up with. You're not the only one who can do research.

You get the idea. Presidents go on "vacation" because the press tells us they do. Being president of the United States is the most important job in the whole world. There's no such thing as a "vacation" in that job. Now you might certainly argue that the importance of the job is the best reason to vote Bush out of office, but let's not play stupid games with what the media feeds us about "vacations." They're out to lunch on the matter.
