According to Holly H., Kelly approached SWAPA about beginning talks on a new TA in one year to better give WN a chance to assess the fuel hedge situation. He was told no way. This is where it gets funny.

Apparently a 2nd year FO (Boeing was that you?) approached SWAPA about putting that decision to a membership vote. He was told he needed 25% signatures to send it out for a vote. He came back with 1000 signatures that he gathered in the crew lounges, and was told no, he needed more. This guy wasn't going to be denied so he went back to the lounges and gathered the other 250, and much to SWAPA's dismay...........it's now out to the membership for a vote.

Sounds like a crack in the foundation between the old and new. Can't wait to see how this plays out and just how devisive this will be to the relations within the pilot group as well as between them and the company.

Stay tuned.

:pimp:

Old news..

Try again.

It wasn't one year, it was six months. The BOD voted 17 to zip to recommend the membership vote against delaying the opening of contract talks. There is no way the membership will vote for the delay. It will get shot down by a wide margin, most likely above 75%
