For anyone considering this type flying, keep in mind how many days that you will be "on the hook". Kalitta's current contract is 17 days a month. Not sure about Southern or World.

World is currently building open time lines with 12 known days off. You are on the hook for the rest. It is an improvement acquired in the last contract. If you cabn't stand 18+/- days on the road this is not the kind of flying for you.

If you have to jumpseat into work and back home, that will impact your number of days at home as well.

Southern's is 20 days. As they say, "we own you for 20 days a month."

Are Southern's planes equipped with EFIS like Kalitta's? That would be a definate tie breaker on which one to get on with.
