has any one done the online version of the K&S ground school for the 737 type? if so, can you explain how it works, i'm a little confused. do you have to go to class at all outside of the oral prep and the actual oral? was it owrth it for time saving? thanks. anything else will help.

I don't know anything about K & S but I did get the type from Higher Power in Oct. They are not the least expensive but they are very good. Contact Sandy and she will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!

The online course is done thru CPAT. Its a web based program that takes you thru a bunch of slides with a narrative playing. I didn't use it for the 737, but its the same program that JetBlue uses for the A320.

I looked at the online program for the 737 but what is bad about it is its very time consuming. There is now way to skip things that you really don't care about for a short course program. I showed up at K&S with the memory items and limitations moe or less under my belt and the course was a breeze. The daily class room sessions will be more than adequate to get you thru the oral.

Online prep = 80 hours
Live class = show up breathing and stay awake.

Your choice if you can take the 2 weeks in PHX.

K and S is a much better operation. Classes are small so they focus on one on one training. It's not a 737 mill.

People believe going to HP will get you an in with SWA. At K and S a Chief from PHX comes and talks to all classes. They also have an open house every year where an HR person comes and you get some one on one time.

It's a first class operation. Mike, the owner, knows his stuff and really cares about your training.

I did the K&S online course. It worked for me and my schedule (long overnights with a laptop). It also saves you four days away from home. The course is long, but for the most part I found it to be interesting. I could do it at my own pace, most of the modules are small, there are several testing sessions that cover the material pretty well. Alot of the slides are interactive, and you can move switches and mess with air/ground logic to see how everything works. The only negative was that it spends ALOT of time on FMC, and it's not used at all when you get to PHX. It gives you a good start for SWA though.

You take a test day 1 of class, no big deal, just memory items, limitations, and some systems questions. The rest of the day is review with the other traditional class members. Oral is day 2. It was a breeze. PM me if you have any more questions.
