Don't feel bad. My former employer is letting pilots go during their grace month for recurrent.

Do you fly any pt 135? If so, this may help. A 293 is required every 12 calendar months and a 297 is required every 6 calendar months.

§ 135.301 Crewmember: Tests and checks, grace provisions, training to accepted standards.

(a) If a crewmember who is required to take a test or a flight check under this part, completes the test or flight check in the calendar month before or after the calendar month in which it is required, that crewmember is considered to have completed the test or check in the calendar month in which it is required.

If you fly a 135 leg in your late grace month you must complete recurrent in that month, or every leg you flew that month would subject the operator to fine and violation for supplying an unqualified pilot.

I only flew an owner trip (91) during my grace month. NOBODY was flying 135 much then as business was dead...

:)

Simuflite at DFW? I just came out of a King Air recurrent myself, and nobody in that class had any good news for flight volume. Cutbacks everywhere. It's dog eat dog and we're all wearing bacon underwear.
