SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 30, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Customers in the western United States will have another reason to choose Delta this winter as Delta begins the only nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Charlotte, N.C., effective March 1, 2007. The additional flights are part of Delta's expansion of its western hub, offering business travelers convenient flights to important business destinations across the country.
``Whether for business or pleasure, and just in time to get in some great skiing, Delta's new service will offer Charlotte customers the only nonstop flights to Salt Lake City,'' said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president of Network Planning. ``Convenient connections at our growing hub in Salt Lake offer the opportunity to access destinations throughout the West from one of the largest hubs in the region.''
Delta's daily service to Charlotte will be operated using the 150-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft -- equipped with in-flight entertainment offering customers movies, TV and music.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Something to be said about the "timing" of this new route!!!

I'm sure it was scheduled months in advance though.

So the 738 has the same inflight entertainment as Ex-Song 757s?

Thats good to see as I saw them doing some transcons with them. ie BOSLAX

I must have missed it, why is this such a big deal? Its a the first non-stop?

USAir is attempting a hostile take over of Delta....so Delta to throw a little mud in their eye announces a CLT-SLC route!
Like someone else said it was probably planned months ago, but sure would be funny to know the truth if this is how the CEO's spar with each other!

Hmmm a little shot across the bow !!!! I'm assuming there will be more!:uzi:
