Well, this thread has been fun but it's based on absolutely nothing but fantasy anyway...

Boy was that fun.

Seems like the NJ guys need to get this square with thier managment before anything moves...until then.... why discuss....?

I understand why you see it this way. But it's really not the case. I have a certain amount of leverage and negotiating capital that I can use with management. I have to pick and choose what I ask for and what I can't. I have to choose to ask for the things that will most bennefit our pilots. If I went to management every week with this type of thing I'd never get anywhere with them. And believe me, I do talk with them every week about many issues. So it's not personal at all, I just have to weigh the plus and minus of each issue and figure out what is worth fighting for. This is the case with every JS committee out there.
Mr. MckPickle, I owe you an apology. I tried to post one last night, but I don't know why it didn't show up.

Anyway, it was my understanding at my last major airline (the one that furloughed me) that the union decided who was on the approved list for the jumpseat. I didn't realize that you had to negotiate for each and every carrier. Now I understand why you approached it the way you did.

I take it back. You're not a jackass. Just me.

No problem what-so-ever. We negotiate for lots of things. We got management to agree to take all 121 carriers so now we just have to get approval for specific 135 guys. But the main thing I do is trying to get other bennefits, like the Flight attendant JS for use by pilots! Every extra seat helps. Anyway, who knows, maybe someday this industry will be well paid again and we'll all buy tickets!

Hey, it could happen:eek: :D
