philly?

how is philly us air's "main city" when charlotte has more ees and more flights?

and we're gonna kick some a$$ come sunday! wooooo!

You are correct, and I made a mistake. I looked at the US Airways official website, and Charlotte indeed has more flights. Philly is #2 and I realized why I "concluded" it was the main hub, was all the international activity.

In any event, my question(s) for the CEO still exist. The management team is responsible for the business end, the budget, new markets, etc. The pilot team is obviously responsible for taking the pax safely throughout the system, in all sorts of weather, 365 days a week.

If you are a pilot for them, my hat is off to you and I wish you guys the best. In my opinion Siegel and his team are asleep at the yoke.

In Dallas, the Dallas Mavericks and Stars play at the American Airlines Center sports venue. The official airline of the Dallas Cowboys is AA.

Can you imagine JBLU coming to Dallas and signing up those 3 teams?

Siegel, was paid 1.5 million last year (thats 125,000 a month boys and girls). Isn't he out smoozing and rubbing elbows with Philly leaders and business people?

"These four individuals have distinguished themselves over and again during a very challenging period for this airline, and I want to thank each of them for their commitment and accomplishments while at US Airways. I wish them the best in their endeavors," said Siegel.

Anyone with an ALPA card in his or her wallet shouldn't blink an eye at the pilots of one carrier salivating over the demise of another.

After sweeping the "ALPA Merger Policy" under the rug and advising an MEC to waive their scope clause while in merger talks, there should be no doubt as to where ALPA National's loyalties lie--Herndon. Everyone else can pound sand.

I wish everyone at USAir luck the same way we all wished luck on Eastern, PanAm, TWA, et al.

We all work a steet corner at some point in our careers...:( TC

When one resorts to whining about spelling, they have really no substance to their own arguments. This is a common theme with you though and it is comical to watch and read your posts. What makes it even funnier is your lack of understanding with the basic skill of reading comprehension. Or are your just stupid?

Must we now add anal retentive to your resume? Speaking of which.....If I were you I'd keep one of those handy and up to date.

Sleep tight Mugsy, all is well in fairyland.

Since when does one opinion here need some hard facts.

?

I just figured that I could afford to lack a little substance since you can afford to lack facts to base your opinions on.

Anal? One little quip related to your use of "large words" and you get the dictionary out --- and post your findings.

Or are your just stupid?

Ohhh. Stupid is as stupid types. Sorry. I couldn't resist being a little anal there.

Speaking of which.....If I were you I'd keep one of those handy and up to date.

Sound advice there. I'll even proofread it.

Reuters -- US Airways pilots union agrees to talks - WSJ
Wednesday January 21, 2:35 am ET

NEW YORK, Jan 21 (Reuters) - US Airways Group Inc.'s (NasdaqNM:UAIR - News) pilots union agreed to talks to cut costs further and boost productivity as the struggling airline seeks to sell assets, the Wall Street Journal said on Wednesday.

According to the paper, the Air Line Pilots Association (News - Websites) said its ruling council decided to engage in talks, which could lead to formal negotiations, on the plight of US Airways.

The union's softening came despite its continued call for the replacement of US Airways' senior management, in whom the union said it has no confidence, the paper said, citing a union spokesman.

Earlier in January, the No. 7 airline, still struggling financially less than a year after emerging from bankruptcy, was reported to be looking to sell a variety of assets including its East Coast shuttle. Sources said the decision to was prompted mostly by the company's failure to win pilot union support for a revised business plan proposed by management and its need to meet terms of debt obligations.

Company officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

You don't get around much do you? This is a dog eat dog business, and although I support the U people in general, they have been living in a fantasy world for the past 10 years.

Like I said last night, they will try and sell this thing off a piece at a time. Bad for them, but good for others in our business. Some will lose jobs and suffer, while others will gain their jobs and celebrate employment again.

Your post was still out of line IMHO.

The facts are out there sport. That denial kool aid is just blinding you Brain Surgeons.

BTW, that is a great term (afford) there Mugs. Perhaps a bit of a Freudian slip about your future?

LOL. Nice try but it did make you out to be the grasping fool you are. Face it, you probably didn't even know the word existed.

I would certainly hope you should proof read it. But unlike you, I wouldn't put the same emphasis on a resume for your financial survival as compared to this message forum. Of course Mugsy, my personal need for writing a resume are long gone.

Hey Mugs, I got a couple openings for valet drivers. PM your resume and I'll take a look at it. But I can't guarantee I'll give you any special consideration like you probably got over at UAL. You know what I mean Mugs? Yes, I think you do.

now now

don't tell me "UNITED" might mean something besides its airline marketing meaning, such as "United Gay/Lesbian/Minority/Non-US Citizen/etc pilot groups?"

as in "we are UNITED"

or "UNITED together"

a good friend, someone not falling into the above groups, interviewed at UAL a few years ago with about 5000 TT, of which was 3000 turbine and turboprop at 121 and 135 companies. ATP, college degree, etc. United said "no" (for whatever reason, who knows and who cares today)

needless to say, my buddie is a 3rd year FO at SWA and has not looked back

hmmm, go figure
