I used to see you guys when I flew out to BID and I always wondered if it was a "lifestyle" job or if it was somewhere to build time so you could get a "real job". ;)

I did it full time the first building time while also flight instructing. It helped that I lived in town with my parents! Later in my career(?), I did it part time because I enjoyed the flying and the kind of operation that it was. It was also special to me because I learned to fly out of WST.

I would still be doing it except that my current employer does not allow outside flying for hire.:(

If I didn't fall into this current gig, I would have gone back to that if I had to. The difference being I would have HAD to be there, and that takes a little of the fun out of it. That and the pay!

PS I'm glad you like the avatar.

My brother-in-laws niece used to fly for them, first in New England and then in the Caribbean. Barely paid the bills is how he put it. Now she flys for Alaska Airlines though.
