There is a job posting on planejobs.com for citation crews in west Africa, and since I'm a pilot "which means broke A@@" I need help. If anyone has a membership I would love the name of the company. Thanks for the help.

West Africa = "you don't want to work there no matter how much they are paying..."

West Africa? Morocco? Libia? Sand? Lions? Al-Qaeda? .... No-Way

I totally agree with Chocks. I had a friend that flew out of Africa for a short time and the locals would shoot heavy weaponry at his aircraft on a regular basis. He finally quit, while he could ... I would look elsewhere.

West Africa

Having flown out of West Africa (The Gambia) doing contract work for my past airline for several months training 757 crews. I enjoyed both the country and the locals. Also did North Africa in HECCA for 6 months and was great.

Some times it is what you make it.

Most of those are North Africa....not sure about "Libia"

I used to work with a guy who spent some time flying in west Africa (Ivory Coast I think), he loved it but said it certainly wasnt for everyone. As Mobie said it may be what you make of it. Sorry I dont have the planjobs info.

I've done Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, South Africa. If I never go back to Africa I will not be upset..

Just make sure your Hep, Tetnus, and every other disease you can take shots for are up to date. Enjoy the Malaria pills....

I'm not really a negative person....give me a trip to Europe ANY DAY!

Dude, will they make you put a plate in your lip?

I wouldn't move to Africa for ANYTHING. I'd work at McDonalds first.

Assuming you can avoid getting shot and robbed. Or jailed. Or dead from disease. Or food poisoning. Or eaten by some kind of gigantic cat. :)

If you're *really* adventurous take a closer look at it- if not keep looking, there are jobs in the states.

I'm just one of those guys who's heard the stories, but they were pretty hair raising.

FWIW, I got a call from a guy about flying a 727 in Angola, and due to my circimstances at the time I would have taken it except he never called me back. This was the 727 that later disappeared. Maybe not getting the job was lucky....

Ok, Libia or Lybia is at the central-north africa,......

Angola

Dave Benjam PM some people that actually work there instead of listening to the " I had a friend that got shot at " stories. Good luck with the job hunt.[/QUOTE said:
I have a better one. I know a guy that flew a C-337 in Angola for 12K per month, oil company geology work. Month on month off. He said angola sucks but the pay was awsome and the month off (back in the states) was sweet. He did get shot at but I don't think that really bothered him too much, at least he didn't complain about that.-kingaira90

Define "heavy". You mean like 12.7, 23mm or REALLY heavy like SA-2's?
:D

Sorry, I don't work anywhere that I can die from just being there.TC

TC,

Let's put it this way ... heavy enough to down a Falcon jet, and as a matter of fact it was Angola. But I'm sure these are just "stories" as Dave Benjamin stated. Ask him, he'll tell you. He's got a bunch of Int'l. experience in his E-120

Hey guys thanks for the responses. I do currently have a job as a PIC on a 560s. My think is I'm 25 and looking for serious adventure. So if someone could still help me out with the info it would be apperciated.

If you have any Ag experience there is always flying an armored 802 in SA.
